The highly-anticipated grudge match between strongmen rivals Thor Bjornsson and Eddie 'The Beast' Hall will take place in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, September 18.
The two men will meet at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, with the event also broadcast around the world on CoreSports.World. The early-bird PPV offer is now available, with fans able to purchase the event for $14.99 by clicking the link HERE.
MTK Global is acting as the official boxing advisors for the event, which is being dubbed as ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History.’
According to Exycasinos, online sports betting has already begun producing odds for the eagerly-awaited historic fight between the British and Icelandic strongmen rivals.
Partner hotels, full athlete line up and ticket sales for the event in Jacksonville will be announced soon, as Thor and Hall look to finally settle their differences.
Edward Stephen Hall, 33 from Newcastle-under-Lyme, won the World's Strongest Man in 2017. His personal best deadlift is 500kg, which is the current world record.
Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, 32 from Reykjavik, was also the World's Strongest Man in 2018, the year after Hall won it. He also deadlifted a record-breaking amount of 501kg, but it was in his Iceland gym and not under competition conditions, so it is considered as the unoffical world record.
Thor has managed to get some good experience in this year with fights against 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Simon Vallily in May and ex-WBO European light-heavyweight champion Steven Ward in January.
Against Vallily, both boxers hit the deck but none were ruled as knockdowns, although each were hurt during the contest.
Thor said of his last bout, “Simon was a good opponent to me, this was good to test my chin as well as my ability to fight in the ring against a professional. He gave me some good shots, good hooks that landed well. I was very happy with my performance.”
He added, “I promise you I’m doing everything I can to knock out Eddie Hall in September.”
Elsewhere on the card, there will be a showdown between CrossFit rivals Josh Bridges and Jacob Heppner, plus undefeated female star Avril Mathie, and world record holding powerlifter Stefi Cohen are in action too.
