Darren Reay relishing Newcastle return
When it comes to fantastic boxing venues, unbeaten Darren Reay feels you don’t need to look much further than the Eagles Community Arena in Newcastle.
The recently-built arena is already establishing itself as an incredible venue to host live boxing, and that will be the case once again when #MTKFightNight return for another action-packed event on September 28, live on iFL TV.
It was a sensational atmosphere when the most recent #MTKFightNight took place there back in May, with knockouts, fantastic fights, and even a female streaker all part of a memorable evening.
Reay (5-0-1, 1 KO) picked up an impressive win on that card, and he is now looking to build on that success when he returns on what is bound to be another must-see night at the Eagles Community Arena.
He said: “It is a brilliant venue. The arena is quality and it’s a great venue for boxing. The atmosphere was bouncing last time and it will be great to get in there again. It’s a top venue for the North East now.
“Boxing up here is booming. There are big cards coming to Newcastle all the time and two within a month just proves that. The place is bouncing and hopefully we can even get another big show on before the end of the year.
“I’m very excited to be back and it’s been another long hard camp. Training has been very good and I’m improving loads under my head trainer Gary. We have been working on different aspects of my game so when the title fights come I am more than ready.”
A huge card in Newcastle features world-ranked Thomas Patrick Ward, flyweight star Andrew Selby, heavyweight Simon Valily, the always-exciting Joe Laws, unbeaten duo Chad Ellis and Adam Gair, the debuting Blane Hyland, plus many more.
