Dante Jardon presented with NABF belt
This morning, during the “Martes de Café” conference, Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán, presented Dante Jardón (35-9, 25KO) with the NABF super welterweight belt, which he won on June 23 against Artem Oganesyan, in Montreal and which had not reached his hands due to logistics matters.
“Crazy” Jardón traveled to Canada to face the tough and then undefeated prospect, Artem Oganesyan and used all his 17-year professional boxing experience to beat undefeated Artem by unanimous decision – 91-98, 94-95, 92-97.
Visibly excited to return to his home – as he calls it – 35-year-old Dante was clear when he said that this belt is just the beginning and that very soon all the boxing spotlights will be on him again, as he wants to get the green and gold belt.
Mr. Sulaimán congratulated Dante because despite the time he has been in boxing for a long time, he has never given up and continues to seek to achieve his dreams, something that serves as an inspiration for many young people.
The NABF belt he now holds has previously been in the hands of world champions Andy Lee and Ronald "Winky" Wright, as well as Canelo's brother Ramon Alvarez.
Debuting back in 2006, Jardón's first 14 victories came via KO. He won the WBC Youth World super-featherweight title in his 12th bout and defended it six times. He has also won WBC FECOMBOX and WBC International Silver lightweight titles and challenged for the WBC World title once, unsuccessfully.
