Danny Carr wants to hand over Southern Area super-featherweight title to former teammate Charlie Wynn
Undefeated Danny Carr is brimming with enthusiasm over his first title chance on November 3.
The popular ‘Cannon’ (10-0-1, 4 KOs) tackles another unbeaten fighter in Lewis Adams for the vacant Southern Area super-featherweight crown on the sold-out #MTKFightNight at Maidstone’s Mote Centre – live on iFL TV worldwide.
With his local fans set to turn up in numbers and roar him to glory, Carr knows this could be a stepping stone to even bigger things.
Carr said:“The support for me will be unreal. Tickets are sold out. The energy will be fantastic in there. My mates will be screaming the house down and I’m buzzing.
“Victory can set me up for everything here. The guy who vacated this title is now fighting for the English title so there are loads of good fights out there for me all the way up to British level. I’m game to fight anyone.
“It’d be nice to get the victory and see how far away they think I am from fighting for the English title. I would like to get that shot fairly soon afterwards.
“I’m extra motivated for this one. My good mate Charlie Wynn got a brain injury in our gym. He’s recovering slowly and it’ll be nice to pass this belt over to him because there’s no doubt in my mind he’d have won it given the opportunity.
“Charlie’s a major drive for me in this fight. I want to win this badly. I’m training with my amateur club as well as my professional club. Charlie was there too and we’re going to do it for him.”
Joining Carr vs. Adams is another Southern Area title clash between welterweight champion Shaquille Day (13-0, 2 KOs) and Jez Smith (11-1-1, 5 KOs) – plus the likes of Martin McDonagh, Bradley Haxell, Jack Ewbank and James Hawley.
