Conor Benn has tested positive for coronavirus
Conor Benn (18-0, 12KOs) has tested positive for coronavirus and his fight with Adrian Granados (21-8-3, 15KOs) has been postponed.
The 24-year-old Briton was scheduled to defend his WBA continental welterweight title for a fifth time against the Mexican on Saturday, July 31, for Week 1 of Matchroom Boxing's Fight Camp series.
"Conor Benn is in good spirits. He feels well," said Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn.
"Of course, he'll obey the isolation rules and reset and reschedule his fight. We'll make further announcements on that very soon."
Benn's last outing saw him beat Samuel Vargas with a first-round knockout as he registered his 18th win from as many fights.
Granados was due to give 'The Destroyer' a stern test ahead of potential world title shots as the WBA #9 in the welterweight rankings.
There's a possibility the fight could be rearranged for Week 3 of Fight Camp on August 14. More news to follow shortly.
Leigh Wood's WBA featherweight world title challenge to holder Xu Can has been elevated to the headlining slot.
