Two-time Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Reece McFadden turns pro with MTK
MTK Global have confirmed the signing of two-time Commonwealth Games medallist Reece McFadden.
The Scottish flyweight won 150 of 165 bouts – including a victory over Andrew Selby – during a glittering amateur career and will look to establish himself quickly in the paid ranks.
The 23-year-old old McFadden said:“I’m delighted. I’ve been boxing since I was nine and I absolutely loved it straight away.
“I believe MTK Global is the best place for boxers to be. They’ll put me on great shows and on great events as I progress.
“I switch between orthodox and southpaw very well. It comes to me quite naturally and my favourite punch would be the uppercut.
“In terms of my influences, Vasyl Lomachenko is my current idol although historically, I loved Mike Tyson.”
In addition to his exploits at the Commonwealth Games, McFadden is a four-time British amateur champion, three-time gold medallist at Finland’s famous Tammer Tournament and is the reigning Scottish champion.
