'Bones' Adams believes Jake Paul will knock Tommy Fury out in grudge match
Former super bantamweight champion Clarence 'Bones' Adams has all-but confirmed that Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul is back on
The top trainer from Kentucky confirmed to MyBettingSites that Tommy Fury and Jake Paul fight is on, plus also stating that 'TNT' Fury will get knocked out if he stands in front of 'Problem Child' Paul
The former WBA World super-bantamweight world champion said: "I was told that they [Jake Paul and Tommy Fury] are fighting. I don’t care one way or another about the fight to tell you the truth, but I was told that they [Tommy’s team] were looking to arrange for cruiserweight sparring because that fight is on. Jake is a cruiser. So I offered a guy and they said: ‘No, he’s way too tough for Tommy.’ He’s just a guy in my gym. He’s a 1-0 guy in my gym and they said my guy was too much for him. My 1-0 guy is too much for Tommy, what have you got to say about that? So that shows what kind of fighter Tommy is. Tommy’s not a real fighter. It’s surprising [they turned down the sparring] but why do you think Jake’s fighting him? Would Jake be fighting him if Tommy had a chance to win? Think about it."
47-year-old 'Bones' is adamant that the younger sibling of WBC heavyweight king Tyson Fury will not hear the final bell if he steps in the ring with the YouTuber-turned-boxer, "Tommy Fury would get knocked out. If he stands in front of Jake, he’s getting knocked out. One thing I’ll say is, and I don’t know who Tommy’s trainer is going to be, but Tommy would need to move his head and move around the ring because I'm telling you right now, if you stand in front of Jake Paul he’s going to knock you out."
If that statement wasn't bold enough, the American predicted what novice boxer Paul could go on to achieve as a professional boxer, "I know BJ Flores, Jake’s coach, and he’s been in my gym training pretty much all the time until they moved down to Puerto Rico. Will Jake Paul become a world champion in the weight division he’s in? No. Can he beat other guys that are professional? Yes. He can beat most professionals but he can’t beat the elite or the fighters who are the top level. He can beat professional fighters, I just don’t think he can beat anybody in the top 20, but he can beat most professionals. But he’s got time, he could probably get top ten in the world. He has time, talent and ability and I can tell you that boy trains. He works his ass off. He works hard and he’s dedicated. That’s what people don't understand.
"Jake is 100 percent a boxer, not just a Youtuber. He’s grown with every fight and one thing I can say – that boy can punch. He can punch for sure. He has one punch knockout power with the right hand – he needs to just work on delivering it. You can always improve on everything you do. Jake’s never happy or satisfied, that's why he is improving."
