Christ Esabe retains WBC Francophone title
Former French champion Christ Esabe (11-0, 3KOs) defeated Argentine Nicolas Nahuel Botelli (10-6, 5KOs) this Saturday, February 19 at Les Mureaux in France.
'Little T' Esabe began the fight dominating a brave and combative Botelli, who was punished harshly with his left eye swelling.
At six seconds into the eighth round, Referee Robert Verwijs checked 'Pitbull's' swollen eye and immediately stopped the fight, as he considered that Nicolás, who already had his left eye completely closed, was receiving too much damage.
With this victory, 21-year-old Esabe retained his WBC Francophone featherweight title, which he won in his last fight in October 2021. He is the third champion of the belt first contested in 2016.
The Judges were Robin Dolpierre, Brahim Ait Aadi and Francisco Marcos Vázquez. The Supervisor was the Vice President of the WBC, Houcine Houichi.
