Caroline Dubois defends IBO World title on February 3rd in London
'Sweet Caroline' Dubois (8-0, 5KO) is set to defend her IBO World lightweight title on February 3, 2024 at the OVO Arena, Wembley, London.
Her maiden title defence will be part of the recheduled Joshua Buatsi vs Dan Azeez WBA light-heavyweight eliminator, live on Sky Sports.
22-year-old pocket rocker Dubois won the IBO belt in September after a tough fight with Magali Rodriguez at the York Hall in Bethnal Green. The Londoner, now residing in Essex, knocked down the experienced Mexican down three times to win via unanimous decision.
Now the younger sister of Daniel Dubois is preparing to defend her world title on the fifth weekend of 2024, which is also set to be the same night Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn finally step into the ring to settle their rivalry.
Irish superstar Katie Taylor holds all the other lightweight world titles as the reigning undisputed champion, and has just defeated Chantelle Cameron to capture the undisputed super-lightweight titles too. Taylor and Cameron are reportedly arranging a trilogy fight for later in the year, meaning the lightweight titles might be sitting dormant until after then.
However, having not defended her lightweight belts for over 13 months now, it's possible that some, if not all, of the governing bodies will strip her to allow other contenders to challenge for the sidelined silverware. If the third decider between Taylor and Cameron occurs, it'll mean her 135lbs belts will be inactive for another six months at least.
Dubois' opponent has not yet been named, but it's possible it could be any of the names listed below…
