Magnifique boxing night in La Belle France
In a spectacular night of boxing in France, the show closed on a high note with two fights with World Boxing Council belts on the line.
Buenos Aires boxer Carlos Daniel Córdoba (16-9, 4KO) won the WBC francophone title after the trainer of Mevy Bifoudi (9-2, 3KO), decided to end the action during round four.
'El Zorrito' Cordoba, 28 from Argentina, showed his superiority from start to finish. He sent 30-year-old Frenchman Bifoudi to the canvas in the first round, then again in the fourth, which is when the towel was thrown in during the referee's count, who waved it off anyway. Cordoba is a former Argentinian super-lightweight champion.
Also, 22-yar-old Frenchman Mohamed Suleiman Kartoum (11-1) won the WBC World Youth welterweight belt against unbeaten Ghanaian champion Richard Fenyi (9-1-2, 8KO) via unanimous decision, with a brilliant performance.
The officials were Daniel van de Wiele (Belgium) Robert Verwijs (Netherlands), Christophe Fernández (France) & Ali Oubaali (France). The Supervisor for the fight was WBC Vice President Houcine Houchi.
