Carla Merino faces powerful Leiryn Flores next
The fighter born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Carla Merino (12-2, 2KO), will have her third fight of the year and her second against a boxer from Venezuela when she faces Leiryn Flores (20-3-1, 16KO) on November 3 at the Monaco Hotel & Resort in Villa Carlos Paz, Argentina .
In March she defeated her compatriot, Debora Vanesa Gómez (8-11-2) by unanimous decision for the national title.
Then in June she won a unanimous decision over the experienced Debora Rengifo (19-12-1) to gain the World Boxing Council Silver super flyweight title.
Merino, 24 years old, has nine consecutive victories with two via fast track.
For her part, Leiryn, 32 years old, has a knockout percentage above 80%. Besides. She has a streak of four victories, two of them by knockout and only one defeat in her most recent matches.
In her most recent commitments outside of her homeland, a defeat in 2019 for the World Boxing Council interim world title against Kenia Enriquez (27-7, 11KO) by unanimous decision.
