Kim win! Clavel crowned WBC champion
Canadian fighter Kim Clavel became the new World Boxing Council light flyweight champion by defeating Mexican Yesenia Gomez, with a deserved unanimous decision over ten rugged rounds, at the Montreal Casino in Montreal, Canada.
Yesenia, who was fighting outside of Mexico for the first time in her eleven-year professional career, went into attack mode with Kim, exchanging clusters of blows. They were clearly showing that they were both in great physical condition.
But, as the rounds wore on, Kim slipped more and more punches making Yesenia miss, while successfully counterpunching, which made a significant difference.
Judges Marie-Josee Guerin (100-90), Alejandro Rochin (99-91), and Michael A. Ross (99-91) ruled in favor of Clavel.
The undefeated 31-year-old Montreal fighter became known, distinguished and admired for her efforts on the medical front lines during the pandemic. Through her efforts, determination and dedication, she`s now one of the finest talents in boxing world.
The fight was streamed live on Probellum’s website in select regions and on their YouTube channel.
