Kim wins then calls for rematch with Yesica Nery Plata
After suffering the first loss of her career in January, Canadian Kim Clavel captured the WBC International light flyweight title at Bell Place in Laval, Quebec, Canada, on May 12 in front of more than 2,000 fans.
Clavel, 32 from Montreal, defeated the tough Mexican fighter, Naomi Arellana Reyes, by unanimous decision.
Throughout the fight, Clavel showed better boxing quality, dominating a competitive rival, who was always looking for the knockout.
The Judges’ scores were 96-94, 98-92 and 98-92, all in favor of the Canadian fighter.
At the end of the fight, former WBC World champion Clavel revealed that she will seek a rematch against her Mexican conqueror Yesica Nery Plata.
