The BBBofC have suspended all boxing events
The British Boxing Board of Control have made the bold and very unpopular decision to suspend all boxing events for the month of January.
It means the highly-anticipated domestic dust-up between Chris Eubank Jr. and bitter rival Liam Williams, schedued for January 29, is now off – for a second time.
The statement below was released from the Board on January 1st:
TOURNAMENTS IN JANUARY 2022
Following advice from the British Boxing Board of Control Medical Panel, Boxing tournaments under the jurisdiction of the BBBofC will be suspended for the month of January.
A further review by the Medical Panel and Stewards will take place prior to the planned recommencement of Boxing in February.
A further statement is expected to be released nearer the end of the month.
