Here is who they are and what to expect from each one.
Top British Boxers to Look Out for In 2023
While there has been a bit of a standstill in the world of boxing in the last couple of years, 2023 is expected to be one of the biggest years in recent memory.
British boxers in particular are looking to make his year a memorable one for them, with quite a few names at the top of the charts coming from Great Britain.
With some major fights bound to happen this year, you can look to playersbest for more information on where and how to bet on these fights and how to pick your favorites.
But before you do that, let’s take a look at the best British boxers you should be looking out for in 2023 and whose fights may just mark the entire year.
Tyson Fury
The WBC heavyweight champion of the world does not have much left to prove, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to see him in the right more than ever.
Furry’s demolishing of Deontay Wilder left the entire boxing world in awe, and now we are hoping to see even more of Gypsy King and what he can do.
A fight with Oleksandr Usyk is, of course, what we are all waiting for, and what Furry will need to cement his legacy and place in boxing history.
A lot of talk is going around about a match happening this year at Wembley, which would easily be one of the biggest sporting events of all time.
Whether this does come to pass or the fight happens in a whole different venue, Usyk v Furry is a match that we will not soon forget.
Anthony Joshua
Joshua’s career was going amazingly until his fight with Ruiz and his consecutive defeats to Usyk, both of which left a bad taste in the mouths of his countless fans.
Anthony is no longer undefeated and certainly has a lot to prove in 2023, which is exactly what makes him one of the most interesting British boxers to look out for this year.
AJ will be back in the ring as early as April 1, when he will take on Jermain Franklin in London. A win here will mean Joshua is back on track, while a defeat would taint his career a bit further and possibly spell demise for one of the great legacies of his generation.
If Joshua can defeat the American in April, more opportunities will open up and he will have a chance to get full payback for his earlier failures, which we are all looking forward to seeing.
Callum Smith
Callum Smith is another name that British boxing fans are very familiar with, even if he is not as big of an international superstar as Furry and Joshua.
Smith will be fighting Pawel Stepien in early March following his defeat against Canelo Alvarez in San Antonio, and a win here will be a likely ticket to a fight against Artur Beterbiev, where the light heavyweight belt will be up for grabs.
Mundo will have an opportunity to nail his place in the boxing history books this year and will be extremely motivated to beat Stepien and fight the current light heavyweight champion.
For that reason, the March 11 fight against Stepien should be high on your radar, and Callum Smith is one of the three British boxers you should be keeping tabs on in 2023.
