Bradley Strand marches on unbeaten
Liverpool's Bradley Strand (6-0, 3KOs) moved up to 6-0 with brutal first-round stoppage of Polish super-featherweight title contender Piotr Gudel (10-8-1, 1KO) on Friday November 12, live on BT Sport.
The visiting fighter was down three times before referee Chas Coakley called a halt to the contest.
The 24-year-old victor said, "It felt good to get the stoppage win, hopefully I'll get a bit of a streak going."
It was Strand's second consecutive KO, having stopped Steven ‘Livewire’ Maguire (1-22-1) in July at the Devonshire House Hotel in Liverpool, and his third knockout win from six professional fights.
Trainer Paul Stevenson was extremely impressed with his student's performance, "Brad took command early, landing hard jabs and wicked uppercuts. He made an opening for a hard right hand which dropped his man heavily. He got up unsteadily and was sent down twice more. It was a great finish from Brad who is developing real power as a pro."
Strand was supported by his teammate Nick Ball who he emulated with his performance. Only last month, Ball stopped the same opponent in just 56 seconds, flooring him three times also.
The unbeaten prospects both train at Everton Red Triangle gym with head coach Stevenson.
"I'll be back in the gym sometime next week and hopefully fight again as soon as possible," Strand concluded.
