The WBC mourns the passing of Piotr Werner
The boxing family woke up to sad news, as Polish promoter Piotr Werner passed away at the age of 73.
Mr. Werner was in charge together with Andrzej Wasilewski of Knockout Promotions, the largest boxing promotion company in Poland.
His last event was held in February 2018, which saw former WBO World cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Glowacki against unbeaten prospect Serhiy Radchenko in the main event.
The World Boxing Council issued this statement in respect: "The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, send our deepest condolences. Rest in peace!"
