Cruiserweight champ Tommy Eastwood has sadly passed away
Former Southern Area cruiserweight champion Tommy Eastwood (13-3, 2KO) has sadly passed away on December 8, 2023.
The talented boxer from Epsom, Surrey, won a Southern Area cruiserweight title in 2006 and challenged for the English championship twice.
His professional boxing career spanned from 2001 to 2007. He often sparred with the likes of Audley Harrison, David Haye, Michael Sprott and Roman Greenberg.
Author, Melanie Lloyd, shared the news of his passing on Twitter yesterday: "I'm brokenhearted today because my great pal, former Southern Area cruiserweight champion, Tommy Eastwood, left this planet yesterday. I have treasured his friendship over quarter of a century and I can't believe he's gone. Rest easy Tom. I am really going to miss you."
He was described by former manager, Mickey Helliet, as a "Lovely man with a heart of gold."
Pinewood Starr ABC shared their condolences too: "Very sad to hear the passing of Tommy Eastwood, great fighter and good friend. RIP Champ from all at Pinewood."
