Blair Cobbs steps up against Alexis Rocha on Ortiz-McKinson undercard
Prince Ranch Boxing’s undefeated welterweight, Blair “The Flair” Cobbs (15-0-1, 10 KOs), will take a step-up in competition for his 2022 debut as he faces contender Alexis Rocha (18-1, 12 KOs), on March 19, 2022, on the undercard of Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs. Michael McKinson at USC Galen Center in Los Angeles, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, and broadcast worldwide on DAZN. Cobbs vs. Roacha will be a scheduled 10-round bout.
"I am excited to make my debut in 2022 against a notable name like Rocha," said Cobbs, who is promoted by Golden Boy. "I want the winner of the main event whether it is Vergil Ortiz or Michael McKinson, I know I am on their level and I am going to make a statement that makes the fans clamor for that fight. The fans want excitement and Blair The Flair is here to deliver.”
In Cobbs' last five fights, he has won four of them by knockout or technical knockout, as the two fighters have a nearly identical knockout ratio in pro fights. Cobbs has a 62.5 % KO percentage, whereas Rocha has a 63 % KO ratio, which means this bout has all the potential to be a fight of the year contender.
"We're glad to get over the finish line with this bout as both parties have signed," said Greg Hannley, CEO of Prince Ranch Boxing who manages Cobbs. "We have a lot of confidence in Blair, and we see him as a world title contender after this fight. This is a world title contender-type bout. So by the end of the year, we're looking for Blair to get a big fight."
"With each fight I have gained experience and now it is time to show the world who Blair The Flair really is," continued Cobbs. "This is going to be an action-packed fight that will steal the show as we both know what is to be gained from a fight like this."
