Betting Odds – Fury, Joshua, Usyk, Joyce
The heavyweight division is set to produce some of the best fights in boxing over the next year, with a number of champions and contenders preparing to do battle and perhaps ultimately crown an undisputed champion.
Tyson Fury is expected to cruise past Derek Chisora in their trilogy fight on December 3rd, but more difficult bouts lie ahead for the 32-0-1 Englishman.
There had been discussions between both parties for Fury to take on fellow Brit, Anthony Joshua, in a mega fight before the end of 2022 but they were unable to come to an agreement.
You can still wager on who would win if they do meet, however, and SkyBet are offering odds of 1/4 on Fury and 3/1 on the underdog, Joshua.
Fury’s last three victories – twice against Deontay Wilder before stopping Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April – have all come by way of KO or TKO, and the bookies have priced that as the most likely outcome if he were to collide with Joshua.
A stoppage in favour of Fury is at 11/10, while a points win can be backed at 13/8. Joshua, meanwhile, is 4/1 to knock Fury out and 10/1 to see him off via a decision.
It is common around fights of this magnitude for several UK betting sites to have special betting offers. Often, they will give new customers the opportunity to get massively enhanced odds but with a small maximum stake and with extra winnings paid in free bets.
While fans have been eager to see Fury vs Joshua for many years, promoter Frank Warren has said that The Gypsy King will follow his Chisora bout with matchups against Oleksandr Usyk and Joe Joyce.
Usyk, the unified WBA Super, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion, is considered Fury’s most difficult test but is still priced as a 6/4 outsider.
Fury is 1/2 to beat the Ukrainian in what would be a humungous undisputed fight between two undefeated athletes.
The WBC champion is then 1/5 to see off Joyce who is at 7/2 in that market – therefore a bigger underdog than Joshua would be against Fury despite Joyce being a slight favourite at 4/5 if he and Joshua encountered one another.
There has been talk of Joyce looking to challenge Usyk in what would be a rematch of their 2013 amateur bout which Usyk won on points.
Should they meet again, Usyk would be a 2/5 favourite and Joyce is at 2/1 to exert revenge.
Deontay Wilder is set for action for the first time since the third Fury fight as he takes on Robert Helenius in New York on October 15th.
Odds are available for Wilder vs Joshua – a fight that has been over six years in the making – and they cannot be separated at 10/11 apiece.
Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr could also be on the cards, and Wilder would be favoured at 4/7 in that one.
