Two new WBC champs crowned after a sensational night of boxing in Dubai
Anahit Aroyan and Nastaran Fathi capture green and gold belts on July 15
Anahit Aroyan (9-1, 2KO) and her team are celebrating her capturing her first professional title on Saturday’s sensational Grassroots / RSG boxing promotion in Dubai, in front of a rapturous audience in her adopted city.
The 23-year-old Armenian stopped her gallant opponent, Thailand’s Thanchanok Phanan, in the eighth round of their championship contest to seal the WBC Youth World super-bantamweight championship.
On the same night, Iranian boxer Nastaran Fathi (10-1, 3KO) captured the WBC Middle East super-bantamweight title overcoming a strong challenge from Lina Kasweka to win the regional green & gold championship strap after 10 action-packed rounds of boxing. Both boxers left everything in the ring and are a credit to the sport.
The judges scores were 98-94, 97-93, 96-94.
