Undisputed: Amanda Serrano vs Heather Hardy 2
Amanda Serrano (44-2-1, 40KO) and Heather Hardy (24-2, 4KO) will clash for the undisputed featherweight crown on August 5 in Dallas, Texas on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz, live on DAZN.
These female featherweights have met in the ring once before, in September 2019, at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden, New York, with the WBO World and WBC Interim featherweight titles on the line. Serrano prevailed over Hardy that night via unanimous decision with scores of 92-98, 91-98, 91-98.
That first loss in New Yorker Hardy's career was then doubled in her next fight with Jessica Camara, who downed Hardy in round one, to win on points over eight-rounds with scores of 73-79, 73-78, 74-77.
Now 41, the Brooklynite has reeled off two consecutive points wins, both at the Sony Hall in her home city.
Serrano lost to Katie Taylor in April 2022, in what was an historic fight for women's boxing, being the first ever female headlining fight at Madison Square Garden in its history. The rivals went toe to toe for 10 electric rounds with the Irish superstar just doing that little bit extra to win on a split. The pair are due to meet again later this year if all falls into place nicely.
The 34-year-old has also bounced back with a duo of wins, although at a much higher level to become undisputed at featherweight with two 10-round unanimous decisions.
