The new WBC and IBO super feather champion Alycia Baumgardner wants to challenge Katie Taylor next
WBC and IBO 126lb champion Alycia Baumgardner spoke to The DAZN Boxing Show after her win in Sheffield on Saturday night.
WBC and IBO super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner has already got an idea about who she would like to face next following her fourth round stoppage win against Terri Harper last weekend.
Speaking on the latest episode of The DAZN Boxing Show, Baumgardner has her sights set on a clash with undisputed women's lightweight champion Katie Taylor.
"I would say Katie Taylor, because she gives me a challenge. I think as a fighter, and as an athlete, having a challenge makes me better," Baumgardner said.
"And so with my opposition getting better as I grow in the sport, that's the better I am and I'm able to showcase my skills right? And Katie Taylor, she's on the top of her game.
"So to have somebody at that calibre as a fighter, it matches mine and so that brings out the best in me so I would definitely go for a Katie Taylor fight.
"I think that would be an excellent fight for the fans just to see the dynamics between both fighters. She's a great boxer. I can box as well as her, she's knocked some girls down and so I think that would be an exciting fight within itself."
