Shabaz Masoud: This has been a long time coming!
Rising star Shabaz Masoud is delighted to finally have the chance to showcase his skills as he prepares to take on former English champion Louis Norman on Friday's action-packed #MTKFightNight.
Undefeated Masoud (7-0, 1 KO) faces Norman (14-8-1, 2 KOs) at the University of Bolton Stadium tomorrow night, live on IFL TV.
It's the first time since November 2019 that Masoud has been able to step in the ring, and he's looking forward to showing everybody just what they have been missing.
Masoud said:"This has been a long time coming. I've been training for a long time. It's been 16 months since my last fight and I've been with Ben Davison since last June, so I can't wait.
"The whole team is on fire. Both me and my stablemate Lee McGregor are fighting on Friday and we will both do the job. It's exciting times for us both.
"I'm facing Louis Norman and he's boxed a few good names, but it doesn't matter who he's boxed as he's facing me now. Whatever he's got, I've got something to beat him with.
"As long as I get the win and I do it in good fashion, then that's the main thing with me. Ring rust won't be an issue as I've done round after round of sparring. You'll see a great performance from me."
Elsewhere on Friday’s massive event, Lee McGregor challenges Karim Guerfi for his European bantamweight title, Maxi Hughes faces Paul Hyland Jnr for the vacant British lightweight title, Jamie Robinson fights Billy Allington, Eryk Apresyan takes on Nathan Bendon, and Sean Duffy squares off with Paul Holt.
