Sam Maxwell is eyeing the IBF European super-lightweight belt next
Sam Maxwell is out to make some noise on the Josh Warrington vs. Carl Frampton undercard in order to set up high-profile clashes in 2019.
The former Team GB star has already made serene progress to 9-0-KO7 and having already faced the likes of Vasyl Lomachenko as an amateur, Maxwell is ready for illustrious names in the paid ranks.
Maxwell said: “I’ve got a step up on December 22. I’m ready for the challenge and I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt in my career. I’m looking to put on a performance.
“There are loads of big fights out there for me in 2019. I’ll be watching Darragh Foley vs. Akeem Ennis Brown closely. I’d love to fight the winner of that.
“There are a number of fighters out there so I’m looking to call some people out and get those fights on for next year.
“Both Tyrone McKenna and I want to give Ohara Davies a hiding. It’s a fight a lot of people would be interested in. I’d look forward to that kind of challenge but Tyrone wants him too. Hopefully we can both fight him.
“I just want to be in big fights. I see these fights on TV. People say how good the fight is. I want to be in those kind of fights where you have to use all your willpower to come through.”
Maxwell stars on a huge BT Sport Box Office bill alongside MTK Global team-mates Frampton, Liam Williams, Michael Conlan, Paddy Barnes and Steven Ward.
