Boxing promoters Matchroom have teamed up with Top Rank to explore opportunities for IBF super-bantamweight mandatory challenger Chris Avalos.
The news comes ahead of Kiko Martinez's defence of the belt against Carl Frampton in Belfast on Saturday night - with the winner obliged to face Avalos in the following 90 days.
Matchroom supremo Eddie Hearn said: “There are lucrative opportunities for Chris Avalos within the division, particularly on this side of the pond.
“We’ll be working closely with Carl Moretti and Top Rank on Chris’ challenge for the IBF title against the winner of Kiko and Carl’s fight at the weekend.”
Also at the top of super-bantamweight division is Scott Quigg, who defends his WBA title against Stephane Jamoye in front of the Sky Sports cameras on September 13.
