Lloyd Ellett and Gergo Vari go head to head
Lloyd Ellett weighed in yesterday afternoon ahead off his fight tonight against Gergo Vari in Brighton.
The British Masters light middleweight champion, Lloyd Ellett 15(3)-0-0 headlines the show in his hometown for the third time in 12 months and made the following statement on Facebook earlier, "Weighed in on the money at 10st 13lbs. Ready to go to war tomorrow night."
Of his forthcoming foe, Ellett stated, “I don't know a great deal about him to be honest. My manager, Mickey Helliet advised me to get rid of him as soon as I get the chance to as he will try to take my head off! I know that he is tall and comes to fight which will bring out the best in me.”
30-year-old opponent, Gergo Vari 14(6)-6(4)-1 is ranked 6th in the Hungarian ratings, has challenged for the Hungarian national title at two different weights and practically shares the same amount of wins as the champion he will attempt to dethrone.
The fight is part of a combined promotions show with Scott Welch and Micky Helliet featuring local Sussex talent, Marcus Eaton 3(1)-0-1 from Shoreham, the newly crowned British Masters Bronze middleweight champion Nicky Jenman 9-8(5)-1, brother Lee Jenman 4-0-0, 27-year-old super middleweight James Child 1-14(4)-0, and heavy-handed featherweight Eli Green 5(3)-0-0 from Guildford. Heavyweights Oli Thompson and 27-year-old Tom Little 4-3(1)-0 from Hatfield have just been added to the already packed bill.
