Quartet of unbeaten JE Promotions stars all set for ‘Trailblazers’ card
JE Promotions’ heavyweight hope Mark Bennett (2-0); super-lightweight Sonny Price (4-0); super-middleweight Dylan Clegg (1-0); and Maidstone middleweight Lenny Fuller (3-0) all appear on JE Promotions’ six-fight card in association with Scott Calow Boxing at Worksop’s North Notts Arena on November 10.
Unbeaten Mark ‘Bad News’Bennett (2-0) tackles dangerman Kamil Sokolowski (5-13-2) in a four-round heavyweight contest.
31-year-old Bennett is eyeing a fight with Birmingham’s Kash Ali (12-0) for his Central Area heavyweight title, which he won last March with a second-round knockout of two-time challenger David Howe (14-7).
However, the Edlington banger first has to get past Barnstaple-based Polishman Sokolowski, who has ruined the record of five unbeaten prospects during his four-year career and is ranked five places above the home fighter on BoxRec.
Swallownest super-lightweight Sonny Price (4-0) has another four-rounder against Blackburn’s Naheem Chaudry (1-14).
The travelling fighter is a North West Regional amateur champion and ABA quarter-finalist but the seven-time Yorkshire amateur champion, Price, has won all 16 professional rounds so far in his pro career and will likely mark his anniversary with yet another shutout points win.
Super-middleweight Dylan Clegg (1-0) made a statement in his pro debut when he finished his Bulgarian opponent Tsvetozar Iliev (6-24-1) in the fourth and final round with just 49 seconds left in the fight.
Trained by Michael White at the Fighting Fit Gym, the 20-year-old 160-pounder former schoolboys finalist next tackles London-based Italian Victor Edagha (0-43-2).
Maidstone middleweight Lenny ‘The Main Man’ Fuller (3-0) travels up to the East Midlands with a view to rack up another win on his flawless record against 37-year-old Londoner Scott Hillman (0-31).
The 24-year-old Chart Sutton gypsy had a limited amateur career with Westry ABC and went on to become an unbeaten unlicensed champion with trainer Lee Page.
Promoter Joe Elfidh commented on his event, “I’m looking forward to seeing all the prospects in tough tests that will strengthen their pro careers and give them confidence and added skills going forward.
“Mark is a throwback fighter that doesn’t want to take backwards steps and he will have a good test in front of him in just his third pro fight against an opponent ranked higher than him.”
Welshman Carwyn Herbert (3-1) completes the card up against Langold's Luke Middleton (1-1) over four-rounds at super-welterweight.
