Jack Ewbank has worked on a new style for his next fight
Welterweight prospect Jack Ewbank (1-0) is excited to display the new skills he’s learned in the gym when he returns to the ring on Friday.
Ewbank takes part in his second professional contest when he faces Dylan Draper on an MTK Global show at York Hall, and he’s looking forward to showing his talents ahead of a busy year.
He said: “I’m naturally a counter puncher, but we’ve been working on coming forward more and we’ll see that against Dylan Draper on Friday.
"He’s a back-foot fighter from what I’ve seen and it looks like he’ll sit back defensively and will be slippery with his movement. We’ve worked on getting him into the corner and making it look clinical. He likes to throw his shots from the ropes, so we’ll be looking at getting those shots away and moving forward.
“This is my first fight in 2019, and I’m hoping to have five fights this year to build towards a big 2020 where we can chase some things down.
"We’ll see how the year pans out and take each fight as it comes, but I’m looking forward to every single one.”
Ewbank is part of a packed bill live on iFL TV at York Hall, with the main event seeing Paddy Gallagher take on Freddy Kiwitt for the vacant WBO European welterweight title.
There are plenty of exciting stars on the undercard too, including Dan Azeez, Danny Dignum, Liam Wells, Siar Ozgul, Josh Adewale, Michael Elliott, Donovan Mortlock, Sultan Zaurbek, and many more.
