When asked by fight night commentator Alex Steedman about the possibility of finally clashing with former middleweight kingpin Gennady Golovkin (39-1-1), Saunders issued an enthusiastic response.
Saunders said: “I’d like to thank the people of Kazakhstan for having me here. I’d love to fight Gennady Golovkin in this Barys Arena.
“Golovkin is a great champion and a brilliant fighter but I would love the opportunity to fight him.
“I’m going to sit down with my management at MTK Global and my promoter Frank Warren. I’m here calling Golovkin out in his hometown, in your home country.
“I want to give the Kazakhstan boxing fans the fight they deserve and that’s myself against GGG right here in their country.”
Saunders was last in action securing the world title with a clinical victory over Shefat Isufi at Stevenage FC’s home ground The Lamex Stadium back in May.
