Standout amateur Shannon Courtenay has turned pro under the watchful eye of Adam Booth
The 'Baby Face Assassin' from Watford was a standout amateur, reaching the ABA finals, winning gold at the prestigous Haringey Box Cup, and became the first ever non-elite boxer to win a Southern Area title when representing Islington ABC.
Courtenay announced the news on social media, "Very happy to announce I’m now a professional boxer!! I will be managed by Adam Booth and also trained by Charlie Beatt, with these two in my corner I know I have a huge future ahead of me! I feel blessed to join the thriving Boxing Booth stable with current and future world champions and I can’t wait to follow suit and make a name for myself in the pro ranks!!!! Time to make some noise."
With the backing of sponsors, the 24-year-old has been training at Adam Booth's gym for the past year alongside Ryan Burnett, Josh Kelly and Lucien Reid.
She added, "I want to say a huge thank you to my fantastic sponsors FMS Recovery, Eason Group and Tourreen Group, without them I wouldn’t have been able to have given up work to chase my dream of becoming world champion!!"
